Creative Minds and Bodies combines learning themes of pre-school and physical activity. Enrich your child`s world in a creative and stimulating environment. Each week the children will be involved in fun and educational concepts for math, writing and reading through games, crafts, stories and physical activity.
"We have tried out many programs at various locations in Toronto, and the classes at Armour Heights Community Centre have by far been the best. The quality of the instructors are fantastic; my daughter can't wait to see them each week, and it is clear how much they care about the students and strive to nurture their educational needs. I have noticed the leaps and bounds my daughter has made in her cognitive, physical, and socio-emotional development since beginning these classes. The content of the programming is of the highest calibre - I am always amazed at what creative and diverse projects my daughter brings home. Joining the community centre has also been lovely as we have been able to connect with other children in the area and develop new friendships." - Leah (parent)

MS. LIBBY'S MUSIC AND MORE with Libby Cavanagh (Room 3, *Rooms 1&2)
Music (3 Classes Now Available): Music instructor, Libby Cavanagh, is an early childhood educator whose life and interests have revolved around sharing her passion for music with children.
As one of the founders of the full day kindergarten program, and a kindergarten teacher, she made music and movement a cornerstone of her curriculum.
Libby's years as a choir leader with children of all ages strengthened her skills as a songstress and artistic director.
Topping off her achievements in bringing music to children, Libby has recently developed classes for young children in which they are taught a unique and fun way of learning how to play percussion instruments.
Libby is fully versed in how music can be used at each stage of development to enrich the senses and enhance learning.
NEW! Baby Head Start*: The science of early childhood development confirms that infancy and toddlerhood are times of intense intellectual engagement. During this time the brain undergoes its most dramatic development, and children acquire the ability to think, speak, learn, and reason. All babies and toddlers need positive early learning experiences to foster their intellectual, social, and emotional development. Ms. Libby is an Early Childhood Educator of 30 years. She will provide and facilitate a sensory play environment for infants and toddlers, AGES 3 MONTHS - 18 MONTHS. This program provides a wonderful opportunity for parents and caregivers to meet and socialize with others.
Storybook Leap Into Literacy*: The latest books and old favorites help introduce your child to new vocabulary and reinforce learning. Children and their caregivers will enjoy stories, songs, rhymes, and be creative with the use of costumes, while building literacy skills, such as letter/sound recognition, and numeracy skills such as number recognition and counting activities. Children will also participate in sensory activities that will help develop pre-reading skills.

Hi Libby: We had a blast with you! Thanks for instilling such a love of music in our kids! - Elyse (parent)
"My almost 3 year old son and I loved Miss Libby's new Leap into Literacy Class. Miss Libby knows all the tricks how to develop a kid's interest in phonics and reading. My son enjoyed the learning activities and games Miss Libby prepared for each class and naturally became interested in reading. Miss Libby's classes are also great for mommies who want to know how to help their kids in reading and prepare their kids for kindergartens. I've got many useful tips and ideas from Miss Libby how the kids are actually taught in kindergartens and we repeated the activities we have done in the class at home, and now my son started to recognize and read more vocabulary. It is so amazing!! I wish that there are more Miss Libby's classes targeting older age groups like 3 to 4 year old with one and half hours class time. Miss Libby's class is packed with many fun activities that the kids don't get bored over one hour period of time." - Joo (parent)
